The Power of Vision

The video called "The Power of Vision" that we watched in class was very informative and inspiring. The video discusses the importance of having a vision in one`s life and future that will guide them to making the right decisions in the most challenging and even fatal moments in their lives. For instance, I enjoyed the part in which they talked about the psychologist named Victor Frankl who was a victim of World War II. Frankl had a vision that helped him not only survive but also learn from his experience. Thousands of people starved to death, were abused, tortured and killed. However, there were others who managed to survive while living in the same conditions. What helped them is them is the vision, a hope that gave them strength to continue living, the light that they saw in the darkness which they followed. Having a vision about your future is very important for anyone who wants to live a meaningful life because vision gives people an idea about where he or she wants to stand  in let`s say 5 or 10 years in terms of career, family, etc. Vision helps us plan and build our future and serves as a foundation to big journey of  life that must be accomplished. I have a vision about my future. First of all, I want to get a good education and learn as much as I can in college so that I will have sufficient knowledge while making decisions in real life situations whether it is at work or on leisure. Secondly, I want to gain a lot of experience by participating in mentorship programs, educational seminars, researches or even meet people who have achieved their goals in the same field. Meeting successful people will help me analyze my vision about my future. Another and a more personal vision is to build a great family in which each member is loved and supported. The family that has good morals and a vision for a better life.

  1. I support your vision for having a great family because that's my vision too. Family is very important in life and if you can give them love and a wonderful life filled with opportunities, you are contributing to the positive vision of the future!

  2. I absolutely share your goal of learning as much as possible in school and also meeting successful people. I think it's a great way to grow professionally and morally as well, bright and inspiring people always make you rethink your professional as well as personal goals and makes you work harder on self-improvement. As i already mentioned in another blog I found it very interesting to see how some people are more career oriented and the other are more inclined toward family.
I wish you to fulfill all your goals in life!

  4. Dinara, thank you for your comments on my blog. :)) I know that you probably, the only person in class who knows about condition of women in Uzbekistan...When it comes to your visions of the future, I think you stated them very clearly. I strongly believe that it is important to know and understand what your visions are. You know that I 100% share your vision about having a happy family. And I totally support your other two including the one about career. And most important, is that I Believe that you can and will achieve all of them! Wishing you all the Best! AK

  7. thank you Alla!, I agree with you that growing professionally is always a plus, especially on your resume.
I have also noticed that some of our classmates are career oriented and others value having a family more. Also, I think that the goals one sets depend on one's age, financial and educational standing
